Odesa Films

Odesa is a production company made up of young directors, storytellers and filmmakers who have produced music videos for David Guetta and worked with brands such as HBO, Samsung, Universal Music and Bosch. They combine high visual quality with well-organised production support, and have a unique cinematic and narrative style that is often given artistic value. (And they are obsessed with noise in film stills.)

The logotype combines serif and sans serif typefaces, referring to the duality of the brand, which means classic film solutions mixed with contemporary tools. There is also a cinematic reference, with the slanted O referring to the lens flare, which in places lends a bright oval flicker to the images. It has also become the brand emblem.
The purple colour used in the brand refers to the bluish, cold tones of Odessa's imagery. The main purpose of web design is to present videos, so the focus is on big images and titles in a clean environment. The background is also black to keep the focus on the films, like in a cinema.
The Odesa team loves to make commercials and music videos, from the idea to the creative concept, including the execution. They have all the filmmaking tools to do this, so they can create anything.
The pairing of fonts used in the identity also reflects the duality of the present and tradition. The emphasis is also on information in printed materials, the function is essential.
The Odesa team says: „USE OUR PASSION AND CRAZY MINDS TO BRING YOUR CONCEPTS TO LIFE.” Bence Szemerey, founder of Odesa and director of photography and photographer, is a determined colour and film noise freak.
